second phase teaching practice -day 4

a memorable and enriching day at school. I reached the school on time, signed the attendance register, and went to the allotted room. Classes began as per the timetable after the morning prayer. A special program was conducted to release the desabhimani newspaper in collaboration with KSTA and KIMSAT Hospital, Kadakkal, which highlighted the importance of social awareness and health education. A counseling class for girls was also held in the seminar hall, showing the school’s concern for students’ emotional well-being.

I handled my regular class in 9N standard during the seventh period, where I taught the topic Structure of Nephron from the unit Respiration and Excretion. I also had a substitution duty in 8F during the sixth period and was assigned sub-district Kalolsavam practice duty, which helped me understand extracurricular responsibilities. Additionally, I participated in the mid-day meal program, gaining insight into school welfare activities. Overall, the day was well-organized, informative, and contributed positively to my teaching practice experience.

A Scout and Guide selection test was conducted for 8th standard students, providing an opportunity to identify students with leadership qualities and a spirit of service. A quiz competition was organized under the “അക്ഷര തണൽ” Library, which encouraged students to enhance their knowledge and reading interest. An awareness (sensitization) program was conducted for Class 8D on the overuse of social media, helping students understand its effects and the importance of responsible usage.  July 26 I reached school on time, signed the attendance register, and went to the allotted room. As it was a Saturday, there was no morning assembly, and classes began after the prayer. I was assigned Mid Day Meal duty, which helped me understand the importance of teachers’ involvement in student welfare and school administration. During the fourth period, I took a class for 8B on the topic “വളങ്ങൾ” from the chapter “നട്ടു നനയ്ക്കാം നന്മകൾ കൊയ്യാം”. Students actively participated and showed interest in learning about the role of fertilizers in improving crop yield. In the seventh period, I again taught Class 8B, covering the topic “വിളവിന് മേന്മ ഉള്ള നടീൽവസ്തുക്കൾ” from the same chapter. The lesson helped students understand the importance of quality planting materials for better agricultural productivity.
