second phase teaching practice-day 6

 October 23

 I reached the school on time, signed the attendance register, and went to the allotted classroom. A special assembly was conducted on this day in connection with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the Vidyarangam Kalasahitya Vedhi competitions.

I had a regular allotted period in class 8H. In addition, I handled substitution duties in 10B during the 4th period, 9D during the 6th period, and 8C during the 3rd period. I also participated in the mid-day meal program. During my teaching period in class 8H, I taught the topic “Permanent Plant Tissues” from the chapter “Cell and Cell Structures.”

A Scout and Guide selection test was conducted for 8th standard students, providing an opportunity to identify students with leadership qualities and a spirit of service. A quiz competition was organized under the “അക്ഷര തണൽ” Library, which encouraged students to enhance their knowledge and reading interest. An awareness (sensitization) program was conducted for Class 8D on the overuse of social media, helping students understand its effects and the importance of responsible usage.  July 26 I reached school on time, signed the attendance register, and went to the allotted room. As it was a Saturday, there was no morning assembly, and classes began after the prayer. I was assigned Mid Day Meal duty, which helped me understand the importance of teachers’ involvement in student welfare and school administration. During the fourth period, I took a class for 8B on the topic “വളങ്ങൾ” from the chapter “നട്ടു നനയ്ക്കാം നന്മകൾ കൊയ്യാം”. Students actively participated and showed interest in learning about the role of fertilizers in improving crop yield. In the seventh period, I again taught Class 8B, covering the topic “വിളവിന് മേന്മ ഉള്ള നടീൽവസ്തുക്കൾ” from the same chapter. The lesson helped students understand the importance of quality planting materials for better agricultural productivity.
