first day of teaching practice

As part of the 40-day school internship and training program under the B.Ed. curriculum of Jamia Training College, Chithara, I, student number 16, began my internship on 14 th July at GVHSS, Kadakkal. We reached the school at 9:30 AM, signed the attendance register, and moved to our allotted classroom. The Head of the Institution and subject teachers introduced us to our duties and teaching assignments. I was allotted Class IX for the chapter digestion and nutrient transport and the class for the chapter the origin of life of living being sum, which I will teach in the upcoming days according to the timetable.

On the first day, I had no classroom teaching responsibilities. Instead, I was assigned JRC (Junior Red Cross) examination duty, where I assisted in conducting the examination smoothly and maintaining discipline among students. I also had text paper duty, which involved organizing and distributing question papers to the concerned staff and classrooms. Additionally, I was assigned kitchen duty during the midday meal break, where I helped serve food to the students. These activities provided me with valuable opportunities to observe the functioning of the school, understand its administrative processes, and interact with both students and staff in different settings.

Although I did not teach on the first day, the experience was meaningful as it helped me adapt to the school environment, understand my future teaching responsibilities, and become familiar with the day-to-day schedule. The day concluded with the completion of all assigned tasks, and we left the school at the scheduled time, marking a productive and promising start to my internship journey.
